A recipe from Joan Eiffert, in our Miami bridge players group.
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup margarine
- 2 eggs
- 2 round tbsp.cocoa
- 1 tsp.vanilla
- 1/2 cup flour
- chopped nuts
- 1/2 pkg. confectioners sugar
- 3 tbsp.cocoa
- 1/3 stick melted margarine
- enough milk to make smooth paste
Put all batter ingredients in a mixer bowl and beat with an electric mixer. Spread in greased oblong pan and sprinkle nuts over top. Bake at 325 for 23 minutes. Remove from oven and place 8 marshmallows on top. Return to oven until marshmallows melt. Remove and pour icing over top. Run knife through icing to mix it with melted marshmallows. Cut into squares when cool.
Double the batter ingredients but not the icing or marshmallows. This makes the brownies extra thick.
