Marion's Coffee Cake

CAKE

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 cups sifted flour
  • 2 tsp.baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp.salt
  • 1 tsp.salt

Cream butter and sugar together. Beat eggs and add to mixture.

Add dry ingredients alternately with milk - then add vanilla.

FILLING:

  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp.flour
  • 1-1/2 tbsp.melted butter
  • 2 tsp.cinnamon
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

Cream butter and sugar, then add remaining ingredients. Preheat oven to 325°. Grease an 8 x 12 pan. Put in alternating layers of batter and filling, starting with batter. Finish with filling on top. Four layers in all. Bake 45 minutes.
